Smart Space Planning for a Heavy-Traffic Office Pantry
Designing an office breakroom in a tight footprint comes down to making every inch work harder without feeling crammed. We rethought the layout from the ground up, using floor-to-ceiling glass and smart perimeter storage so the team gets a functional coffee spot, extra office storage, and dedicated break seating without eating into the main workspace.
Maxing Out Storage with Dual Full-Height Carpentry
To avoid cluttering floor space, we engineered custom full-height cabinetry on opposite walls. The challenge was fitting bulky commercial appliances without making the room feel cramped. On one end, we built a flush alcove for vending machines so they sit seamlessly built-in. Opposite, the kitchen unit combines dark teal base cabinets with white overheads. This houses the coffee machine, water dispenser, and fridge, while providing plenty of hidden storage for office supplies and pantry stock.
Minimal-Frame Glass Partition to Keep Things Open
Solid drywalls would have blocked window light and made the small pantry feel boxy. Instead, we installed a custom glass partition wall with a matching glass door.
Unlike traditional glass partitions that require bulky, heavy borders at the ceiling to secure the glass, this installation uses a near borderless top frame mounted directly near the ceiling. Achieving this sleek, minimal profile required precise engineering, but it maximizes transparency and creates an almost invisible boundary.
The glass lets daylight stream straight into the main workspace while keeping sightlines completely open. It effectively seals in coffee grinder noise and chatter, while the smooth operating glass door prevents slamming sounds to maintain a quiet environment for the surrounding team.
