Do I need a permit for a Kitchen and 2 Toilet overhaul?

Yes. Any hacking of wall or floor tiles in HDB flats requires a HDB Renovation Permit. As part of our service, Le Interi handles the entire submission process with our HDB-registered contractors. We ensure all works comply with the 3-year restriction on hacking floor/wall tiles in new BTO flats.

Why is 20ft of cabinetry the standard for this package?

Based on typical HDB 3-room, 4-room, and 5-room layouts, a 10ft top and 10ft bottom cabinet run (20ft total) provides the optimal Work Triangle efficiency. This allows enough space for a built-in oven, hood, hob, and sink while leaving ample countertop area for food preparation.

Can I renovate my HDB kitchen and toilets while staying in the flat?

While possible, it is not recommended for a full package renovation involving hacking. The process generates significant dust and requires the water supply to be turned off for plumbing works. If you must stay, we provide floor-to-ceiling plastic hoarding to minimize dust migration, but the toilets will be unusable for 7–10 days during the tiling and waterproofing phase.
